By creating an account or using Denkora, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to this policy.
1. Introduction
This Policy explains how Denkora's optional investor verification process works for angel investors, venture capital firms, and accredited investors, and what such verification does and does not confirm.
2. Purpose of Verification
Investor verification helps founders and startups identify individuals and entities with a reasonably confirmed investing background or accreditation status. It is a trust signal, not a guarantee.
3. Categories of Investor Verification
- Angel Investor Verification — confirmation of identity and self-declared investment activity/history
- VC/Fund Verification — confirmation of the fund's registration, management entity, and authorized representative
- Accredited Investor Verification — where applicable, confirmation of accreditation status based on documentation permitted under local securities law (e.g., income/net worth documentation, third-party accreditation letters)
4. Verification Process
Investors seeking verification may be required to submit:
- Government-issued identification
- Proof of fund registration or management entity documents (for VCs/funds)
- Accreditation evidence, where applicable and permitted under local law
- Additional documentation as reasonably requested by Denkora
5. What Verification Does NOT Confirm
Investor verification does not confirm or guarantee:
- The investor's current fund availability or intent to invest
- The legitimacy or terms of any specific investment offer made by the investor
- Ongoing compliance with securities law after the verification date
- Investment outcomes for any startup connected with the investor
6. Jurisdictional Variation
Accreditation standards vary by jurisdiction (e.g., SEC accredited investor rules in the U.S., SEBI rules in India, FCA rules in the UK). Denkora's verification reflects a reasonable, good-faith review of submitted documentation and does not constitute a legal determination of accredited status in any jurisdiction. Startups and counterparties remain responsible for their own compliance obligations.
7. Revocation of Verification
Denkora may revoke investor verification if documentation is found to be fraudulent, the investor's status changes, or the investor violates our Terms & Conditions, Community Guidelines, or Anti-Fraud Policy.
8. Data Handling
Documents submitted for verification are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and retained only as necessary for verification and compliance, per our Data Retention & Deletion Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform.
